First and foremost, versatility, and Duke Mid GTX, the debut boot in Kayland’s new Hiking Advanced category, is the perfect answer.SOLEKayland's mountaineering DNA runs through the Duke Mid GTX: the sole unit sees a significant increase in the EVA midsole and has been specifically designed to provide maximum foot comfort and cushioning – even on the harshest terrain.The foot sits directly on the dual-density EVA midsole which has a soft contact area. This is coupled with a high-density ESS zone placed right above the outsole which is designed to provide optimal cushioning from impacts and can be seen through the openings placed within the Vibram® Duke sole.The outsole features traction lug technology: a tread pattern designed specifically for varied terrain, stones, gravel and grass that ensures enhanced grip underfoot.The toe features a climbing zone, ideal for more demanding trails or via ferratas, while the rubber toecap and extended wings on the sole protect the foot and deliver enhanced shock absorption.UPPER AND LININGThe Duke Mid GTX features a fabric upper with stitch-free PU inserts and the Gore-Tex Invisible Fit membrane laminated directly onto it. This special construction technique ensures weight is kept to a minimum. The mesh collar is protected by laminated polyurethane and features a rear spoiler, which flexes perfectly with ankle movement.
