What’s today's mountain enthusiast looking for from their boots? First and foremost, versatility, and Duke Mid GTX, the debut boot in Kayland’s new Hiking Advanced category, is the perfect answer.SOLEKayland's mountaineering DNA runs through the Duke Mid GTX: the sole unit sees a significant increase in the EVA midsole and has been specifically designed to provide maximum foot comfort and cushioning – even on the harshest terrain. The foot sits directly on the dual-density EVA midsole which has a soft contact area. This is coupled with a high-density ESS zone placed right above the outsole which is designed to provide optimal cushioning from impacts and can be seen through the openings placed within the Vibram® Duke sole. The outsole features traction lug technology: a tread pattern designed specifically for varied terrain, stones, gravel and grass that ensures enhanced grip underfoot. The toe features a climbing zone, ideal for more demanding trails or via ferratas, while the rubber toecap and extended wings on the sole protect the foot and deliver enhanced shock absorption.UPPER AND LININGThe Duke Mid GTX features a fabric upper with stitch-free PU inserts and the Gore-Tex Invisible Fit membrane laminated directly onto it. This special construction technique ensures weight is kept to a minimum. The mesh collar is protected by laminated polyurethane and features a rear spoiler, which flexes perfectly with ankle movement. Impact protection is assured thanks to Kayland's Overlasting Construction combining which a polyurethane rand, which fully protects the toe, and the extended sole length, which wraps the toe of the boot to provide additional impact protection. Lace closure is precise and comfortable with tape eyelets and lace hooks to ensure laces stay put throughout your hike.FITThe new construction of the Duke Mid GTX provides a fit of unparalleled comfort, designed to provide snug, supportive and anatomically precise foot protection, and immediate comfort that feels natural straight out of the box.

K4 is the technical boot for high-altitude mountaineering, ideal for tackling terrain and ice at altitudes of up to 4000 m characterised by a particularly harsh climate. Thanks to its full crampon compatibility, it is ideal for crossing glaciers and ice climbing. The K4 GTX is highly durable, equipped with the most innovative thermal and component technologies in the Kayland range. UPPERA new striking graphic accompanies the high technicality of this shoe. The completely renewed design with a new pattern recalls the style of other models in the range, for an unmistakable stylistic continuity with the new logo and pictogram evident on both sides. The fascia surrounding the boot and the toe box are made externally with Diamond Technology. This exclusive polyurethane component provides an unprecedented degree of abrasion resistance and a wider surface area for greater protection. The inner surface of the boot has also been implemented by adding rubber to ensure greater protection of the foot and shoe from the wear and tear of crampon use. Protective gaiters and Easy Zip waterproof closure. LININGA Gore-Tex® Duratherm lining, one of the most thermally insulating liners in the Gore range, has been added internally. The lining is perfect for protecting the feet even in the coldest temperatures, maintaining the impermeability and the breathability of the foot while raising the comfort level inside the shoe.SOLEAn accentuated arch support to ensure greater braking of the shoe when descending and for better grip on rocks. The Vibram® Teton sole has a specific design for mountaineering and ice climbing: the full zones on the toe and heel provide greater grip and increase safety, while the grippy compound maintains a high level of grip in all conditions and on all surfaces. MIDSOLE AND INSOLEThe polyurethane outsole block also wears the institutional colours with a two-tone design. The rear heel for crampon insertion has been set and glued into the midsole to ensure a more secure and stable grip. The mounting footbed is made of fibreglass with aluminium foil to ensure maximum rigidity, especially when used with crampons. The midsole features an exclusive technology, thanks to the Smart PU component, a polyurethane compound capable of reacting to changes in temperature: it hardens in the heel area in colder temperatures and softens in milder weather to facilitate cushioning when walking. LACING SYSTEMThe K4 GTX offers a new lacing system with maximum adjustment according to the intended use. The tongue features an overlap closure, with a single gusset to ensure total foot wrapping. In addition to this there are 3 levels of closure: a lace puller, which offers the possibility of tightening the laces and keeping the fit anatomically constant, an intermediate level with the lace closure and finally at the top, the Velcro and microfibre strap. The outer protective polyamide gaiter has a waterproof closure system with a heat-sealed zip.
